In 2024 my mom was diagnosed with Uterine carcinosarcoma, a rare, high-grade endometrial cancer. It's considered a high-risk variant of endometrial cancer and the most agressive.

After an emergency surgery in May 2024, she suffered from septic shock and spent a week in ICU and another week in the hospital recovering before she was able to finally go home. Shortly after she began 6 rounds of chemotherapy followed by immunotherapy. After her last Petscan in February 2025 all was clear and she was deemed to be in remission.

Unfortunately we've just discovered a new very large tumor has grown in her pelvis, which the doctor believes is cancerous, and she requires another complicated surgery to remove this tumor, followed by unknown treatments at this time.

My mom is retired and on social security with the limitations of Medicare. A lot of money was spent out of pocket this past year on medical expenses and likely much more will be spent as this journey continues.
