Vet bill for cat rescued at Panera
Donation protected
**NOTE: Exact amount needed is unknown at this time. Could be more then the goal but could be less too. If there are any extra funds leftover after Doughboy's fees are paid, they will go towards another Paws of Hope rescue cat named Ming. (See update 3) Ming was found laying in a ditch dying. He's the sweetest boy but he is severely underweight with major dental & jaw problems. Thank you for your generosity! It is truly appreciated! **
STORY: On Jan 23, 2017 I noticed a cat in Panera Bread parking lot in St Joseph, Mi. He was extremely sick & some of the employees told me he had been living there since last summer. When I tried to get close to him, he would run. After posting pics of him on Facebook, I received lots of messages from concerned community members saying that they would love to help & donate money so I can get him the vet care he so desperately needed. So I decided to set a live trap. Long story short, I was finally able to trap him late on Jan 28th!! He has been through so much living outside during a Michigan winter plus being so sick on top of it. He needs our help!!!!
So now this kitty is known as "Doughboy"! I volunteer for a wonderful foster based only rescue group named Paws of Hope ( https://www.facebook.com/Paws-Of-Hope-570483693004375/ ) & we are asking for donations to help cover Doughboy's vet care & his vet stay. We don't know the exact costs of his vet bills yet, but it will include the stay at the vets for at least 14 days, lots of medicines, several different flea treatments, de-worming treatments, the fluids he is receiving, cost of the blood draw, the feline leukemia & aids tests (FIV/FeLV) which were negative, vaccinations & the cost to get him neutered when he is healthy enough. Plus anything else that might come up. Also, Doughboy is missing all of his small teeth & only has his 4 fang teeth. His mouth looks clean otherwise, so the vet is guessing he is about 3-4 yrs old from that. He could possibly need lower eyelid surgery from his eyes being so infected but we will have to wait for his eyes to clear up to see for sure. It turns out Doughboy is sweet as can be and really enjoys when people pet & talk to him! No contribution is too small & any extra money left over will go towards other Paws of Hope pets in need!! I will try to update the costs when we know more.
Doughboy has a long road ahead...but with donations to help pay for his medical needs, we can make sure he gets the best possible care he so deserves!
Thank you!!!!
