Allison has been on a long journey. In 2022 she developed foot drop. We thought it was a complication of an ankle injury. It turned out it was much worse. She developed progressive weakness and muscle tightness. Eventually this led to her becoming wheelchair dependent. We have come to find out that it impacts her lungs significantly. She is in respiratory failure and has just received a trach. It also impacts her intestines, limbs, veins, trunk, and head. There is no treatment. Unfortunately, Allison has become weaker and weaker. There is always new equipment needed. Especially since we have doctors across the country which leads to expensive plane tickets.
