After a valiant fight to beat cancer for 25 months Lucas went to be with Jesus. The doctor in New York said his surgery was a success but in making it successful they had to remove part of his bowel. He then got c-diff that caused an infection in his bowel and cut off blood supply to his already weakened vessels. Lucas died 18 days after his surgery.
Any donations now will go to helping with funeral expenses, medical bills and to help defer the cost of living in NY for a month, while still having to take care of the girls in TN. When Lucas got sick and then died so quickly we had to pay a lot in plane tickets. It cost $4000 just to get Lucas from Ny to TN and that had to be paid up front to the funeral home in NY. Thank you for all of your love, support and especially prayers along the way.
After 2 years of fighting stage 3 High Risk Neuroblastoma cancer, Lucas' Dr.s at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital have exhausted every avenue they have to cure Lucas. Lucas' Drs have found a dr in New York who is confident he can remove the cancer with surgery and other medications. It would mean Lucas, his mom and dad going to New York and staying in New York for an unknown amount of time. It has been a very hard and finically draining two years. We would not have been able to make it without the help of strangers, friends and family. Once again we must ask for your support as we strive for another cure for Lucas. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. If you have not heard of Lucas'fight you can check out his journey on his page on facebook (PUSH for Lucas). Cancer financially ruins a family , parents and grandparents alike. It doesn't give you time to save up it just keeps requiring more and more money, any amount you could spare would be a blessing. If at the end of our journey to New York there is any money left we would use it to do repair work on Lucas'mom and dad's vehicles. The hundreds of trips we have to make to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital has paid its toll on all our vehicles and their cars are in desperate need of some repairs and maintenance work. Even after New York Lucas will require care on a regular basis at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Thank you so much for your continued help and prayers. You do not know how much it means to us. We know this is short notice, but it is all we were given, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your continued support!
Lucas' Grandma,
Brenda Johnson.
