Wildlife Rehabilitation in Northern CO

Help us fill a vital community need in Northern Colorado by opening a wildlife rehabilitation facility in 2014!

Until last year, almost 2,000 small mammals, songbirds, waterfowl, reptiles and amphibians from all over northern Colorado were rehabilitated each year in Fort Collins. Recent changes in local wildlife care have left our region with no public or private rehabilitation services for most birds and mammals. The newly formed Poudre River Wildlife Center (PRWC) is organizing to address this critical need, and we need your help!

Poudre River Wildlife Center (poudrewildife.org) became incorporated in April 2013, and as of June 2014 is officially a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization!

Our local community and wildlife need rehabilitation services as soon as possible, so we are starting to raise money that will allow us to secure a property and begin constructing facilities. Specifically, we are hoping to raise $10,000 to cover legal costs and application fees required for city and county zoning approval.

The mission of the Poudre River Wildlife Center is to provide the Northern Colorado community with services to rescue, rehabilitate, and release injured, orphaned and sick animals and promote conservation of wildlife through education, outreach, and training. We see this mission as a duty to provide compassionate care to the animals affected by human activity in our community, unintentional or otherwise. Additionally we want to educate the public how best to coexist with wildlife to limit the transmission of zoonotic diseases, limit animal stress and human-wildlife conflict, and promote community health. Please help us make PRWC a reality.

For those who give and would like recognition, we will list your name on our donor page at our website (poudrewildlife.org). We appreciate any and all contributions. With your donation we will be one step closer to helping animals from orphaned baby squirrels to injured songbirds and foxes.

If you are interested in joining our mailing list or have any questions about PRWC, include your information with your donation or email us at [email redacted]

Thanks so much for your time and donations! We look forward to providing this needed service in the community!
