PRB 2023 - Ashland Grizzlies travel to Japan
Donation protected
The mission of the Pacific Rim Bowl (PRB) is to develop character, leadership and enhance cultural awareness between student-athletes from Ashland, Oregon,USA and the Kansai Region of Japan.
Traditional football values of supporting family and friends, giving maximum effort in all you do and demonstrating class on and off the field are shared by both Ashland and Japanese participants in this one-of-a-kind cultural exchange and football game.
The Ashland Grizzlies were scheduled to return to Japan for the 17th PRB game in 2021 and due to the pandemic our fundraising efforts halted and we didn't know when we would be cleared for travel and be able to continue this tradition.
Earlier this month, the decision was made that we will be traveling to Japan to play in PRB 2023 and now we are desperate to raise the funds needed to get our team there.
The last few years have taken a toll on our community, athletes and our sports programs. It would be so great to give this team an experience of a lifetime in this valuable cultural exchange.
The team has been fundraising by selling grizz cards and spirit wear but without our regularly planned auction dinner and other big events that take time and months of planning, we are needing to fill the gap.
Every dollar raised will go directly into the PRB2023 account and will be used to get the team to Japan.
Steve and Michele have been involved with the PRB since 2003. Steve has coached several of the PRB games, traveled to Japan with the team and is now the Administrator working out all the logistics behind the scenes. Michele has helped with marketing and fundraising and coordinated the peace ceremonies and hosted dinners and events over the years.
