PLAYBACK Post-Production Fundraiser

Donation protected
PLAYBACK is the debut short film written & directed by Ryan Clarke in partnership with Ben Daniels Production.

We have completed production and wrapped shooting, and are currently in the process of post-production. This includes the sound design, scoring, coloring, and some light VFX needed to complete the film for publication and a Spring/Summer film festival run.

While our goal for this fundraiser is to raise the necessary $9,500 to cover all of our post-production costs, we are grateful for any amount you are able to give in support of our film.

No matter the size of your contribution, we will include your name/business in our list of "Thank You's" in the film's credits (pending your approval) and will receive a private link to the finished film upon completion.

Additionally, for those who contribute $1000 or more, you will be listed as an Executive Producer in the credits, receive a private link to the film, and you'll receive an invitation to a premier screening of the film (date and location currently TBD).

We are also open to discussing sponsorship opportunities if you are interested in including your company's logo/tagline in the credits.

We want to say a huge THANK YOU in advance to anyone who decides to contribute and/or shares this fundraiser with anyone who might be interested. You are directly contributing to me, Ben and the entire cast and crew getting to live out our dreams and create what we hope is an entertaining film!

SYNOPSIS
Isaac (Spencer Grant) is a graduate student studying political rhetoric &
propoganda. While on a weekend away to focus on writing his thesis, he
stumbles across a “group meeting” led by the charismatic yet menacing
Dalton Sturgess (Bryan Hall). Sturgess warns of the dangers of “progress”,
blaming government officials and hints at violent plans to disrupt their
“forward thinking policies”. As Isaac attempts to leave, he is noticed by
Sturgess and the group, and coerced to stay by Sturgess and his cunning
wife Sybil (Ginger O’Toole). Seeing an opportunity to gain first-person
experience with the kind of figures he has been writing about, Isaac stays.
Isaac then finds himself in increasingly tense, bizarre, and even flirtatious
interactions with both Dalton and Sybil, leading to an explosive revelation.
Will Isaac be able to navigate the Sturgess’ cat-and-mouse game, or will his
curiosity lead him down a dark path with no light at the end of it?
