This fall I will be spending part of my junior year (10 weeks) in Port Alexander, Alaska through the Alaska Tides To Tongass Science and Arts Academy program. The program is located in a small fishing village only accessible by float plane or boat near Tongass National Forest. The school program will specialize in marine ecology and biology. I will live with a resident of the town and have all sorts of amazing opportunities, from cold water survival to creative writing class. There are 7 other students from all across the US who are also participating. I was awarded a scholarship to attend, but there are additional expenses to get me there (flight, specialized gear, etc) and it would be most helpful for people to donate money rather than buying me something specific. If you’re interested in helping me fly to Sitka, AK and then to Port Alexander for this program, please consider donating!
