On July 15, while our family slept, our home caught fire. I escaped with our children, Dorian (11) and Danny (8), and my phone. My husband Ivan ran back inside to carry out our dog Hemi and our bearded dragon Old Man. Almost everything we owned was destroyed or contaminated beyond repair. Our cat, Sassy, was severely injured. We believe she was crushed by debris. She is family, especially to Dorian, and remains in emergency care. Internal trauma has caused air to leak into her tissues. We’re doing everything we can to save her. Right now, that’s what matters most. 

Starting over with kids, one with Autism and complex medical needs, is overwhelming. We’re taking it one day at a time. 

We’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received from our All for Christ Church ohana, Meridiana neighbors, and Southfork family. Dorian left in underwear, Danny in PJs, and Ivan in boxers. Strangers opened their homes and hearts to clothe and feed us.
