A NEW TYPE OF COMMUNITY IS REIGNITING JEWISH LIFE IN AMERICA

Lehavat David is a grassroots community, under the auspices of the Ostrova-Biala Rebbe Shlit'a, who is channeling the transformative power of Judaism to unite, awaken and inspire the Jewish people from all different walks of life.

Like the flames in a menorah, the Jewish people have many different branches and traditions, but our essence is one.

Lehavat David represents the extraordinary light that shines into the world when these flames unite for the common purpose of uplifting humanity.

Our center in Los Angeles is embarking on a series of projects that are blazing new ground in the Jewish world. With the Torah as our guide, we are breaking down the artificial divisions that separate the Jewish people from one another.

Our vision is predicated on firm adherence to Jewish law, yet we do not advocate a cookie-cutter approach to Jewish observance. We are truly "post-factional" in that we strive to embody the entirety of the twelve tribes of Israel. Practically, we draw our strength from our diversity, and from the teachings, prayers and melodies of Chassidus, but most importantly, from the people that represent all of our different heritages that come together as one within our walls.

The funds will be used for purchasing our first Sefer Torah and supporting our programs, which include lively and joyful prayer services, memorable Shabbat and holiday meals, inspiring Torah learning and classes, hachnasat orchim (Jewish hospitality) and a series of communal outreach events that share the depths of Torah Judaism with those who have yet to experience the extent of its beauty.
