Hello, my name is Jason Gardner. I am putting together this fundraiser in order to help raise money for Dustin Atwood. The Atwood family are close friends, avid outdoorsman, and wonderful parents who are in need of our help, so they can pay for the unfortunate funeral expenses and medical bills that they have incurred.
Oriyah Berklee Atwood was almost 4 years old and was full of life and joy. Unfortunately, Oriyah was born with some major medical problems which led her and her family in and out of doctors offices and hospitals for treatments, procedures, and surgeries. Oriyah had to battle on a daily basis with Hydrocephalus, Aquaductal Stenosis, Refractory Epilepsy, and Chronic Lung Disease. Due to these medical problems, Oriyah was also legally blind. On Thursday, June 4, 2015, the Atwood family took Oriyah in for brain surgery in order to help combat her Hydrocephalus and other medical problems. The doctors said that the surgery went well, however when the they tried to extubate Oriyah and wake her up, she could not fight any more. Oriyah could not regain respirations and breathe on her own. As a result, Oriyah past away last night and went to a better place.
The frequent hospital visits and surgeries have turned into outrageous medical bills, and the funeral expenses are overwhelming. The Atwood family is going through an extremely hard time right now and they deserve time to mourn, grieve, and try to gain closure with the loss of their little angel.
Please help out by donating what you can, so the Atwood family can rest a little easier, and not have to worry about all of these expenses.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this, and for helping out a fellow outdoors family in their time of need.
