Help Tina to leave the house independently again!

Hi friends,

I lost most much function in my legs some years ago due to nerve degeneration of undetermined origin. The damage to my nervous system is permanent. I am reliant on a walker, and a leg brace on good days and a wheelchair most days.

I am not longer able to leave my home independently. I am limited now to the edge of my porch.

 However, with some additional equipment I will be able to again. I need some help accomplishing this goal. I have recently been able to start working about 15 hours per week from home but am unable to afford the equipment that I need without some help.

We recently were able to pay a hefty co pay for a custom wheelchair but I still need all terrain tires, a UTV ( utility vehicle), conversion kit to switch the controls on the UTV to hand control. 

With these things I will be able to leave my home and visit neighbors nearby, get the mail, and get to the beautiful lake with a wheelchair accessible dock for fishing, just 1/4 mile from my home. 

I am so very close and so very far. These are simple things that would greatly improve my quality of life. Allow for more exercise by using a chair that works under my own power and will allow me to enjoy nature which is a huge deficit in my life right now. 

It is my greatest desire to regain any bit of independence that I am able. I’ve been independent my whole life. I started working when I was 12 under the table because I didn’t want to wait until I was 14 to get a permit to work. I put myself through college and graduate school. I lived alone most of my life. I traveled the world by myself but my greatest adventure and most important may just be getting to Deer Lake on the beautiful Blue mountain where I am grateful every day to live. 

The fundraising goal is based on an estimate of the cost of a used UTV with the features that I need and the cost of converting it to hand controls and the cost of the wheelchair tires. 

I am working to contribute to this goal as well and reducing the amount I am asking for whenever I receive payment for my art.
