Help me fast-track veterans into civilian life

Donation protected
I’m a veteran with one simple goal: helping others transition and rehabilitate back into “Civvy Street.”

After leaving the service in 2015, I experienced the reality of PTSD and the isolation that can come when traditional support doesn’t quite fit.

i'm £1200 plus flights, and all of my savings into the biggest. as of now daily vlogged recon mission of my life!!
{donations of as little as £5 may well save a life or lives}
{that is less than a pack of beer }
{ currently creating content on youtube}
{ it is very fresh though i'm learning }

There are thousands of resources available for veterans, but at the time I didn’t know where to start. Waiting lists were long, and more than anything I missed the sense of brotherhood and connection that had once been such a big part of my life.

So let me introduce ‘Operation New Horizon’

This will be a free 6-week initiative based in Thailand, designed to help fast-track service leavers back into civilian life. The programme will be tailored to the individual needs but will typically include support for mental and physical wellbeing, future training and employment, and practical life skills such as managing finances, health (including dental care), overcoming addictions, and maintaining personal wellbeing.

Most importantly, it will provide a supportive environment where service leavers can go through this transition together, maintaining the sense of camaraderie, understanding and shared experience that is so important when stepping into a new chapter of life.

What do I need from you?

As part of this initiative, I want to introduce daily vlogs. Each veteran will document their journey throughout the programme. This will help them reflect on their progress and build confidence in expressing themselves.

Not every veteran finds it easy to talk about what they’re going through. Vlogging offers another way for them to communicate, in their own time and in their own words, while also helping us better understand and support them throughout the programme.

To make this possible, I need funding for some basic equipment. This will likely include a laptop, GoPro and microphone, which will also allow me to document my research trip to Thailand.

While I am self-funding the trip, I will need support with more elements of the expenses, such as testing the safety and suitability of activities like Muay Thai training and scuba diving sites that could form part of the programme.

Here is my plan

On 23rd March 2026, I will be flying to Thailand for a research trip to explore and develop the foundations of Operation New Horizon. During this visit I will:

  • Meet with veteran charities based in Thailand
  • Visit accommodation options and potential base locations
  • Research activities such as Muay Thai and scuba diving sites
  • Research local minibus transport companies
  • Meet with the Thai Tourist Police
  • Meet with the British Embassy in Thailand
  • Meet with a similar American veteran initiative in Phuket

This trip will allow me to properly assess the safety, logistics and feasibility of the programme before launching the first intake of veterans.

Thank you so much for your support,
Liam
