My name is Oliver, and I'm a 19 year old freshman in college.
On March 18th, I was told I have HIV. My parents are pretty well to do, so most people would think that I could cover my costs, but they are extremely homophobic, and if I tell them what I need help covering, or if I use their insurance to pay for this, I will be telling them my sexuality, and my diagnosis, and I will promptly lose my parents as well as my funding for college and everything else I have.
As a result, I'm going to have to pay for care costs and medication myself for April. I put $3000 as my goal, and in reality, that will cover me for medical bills and medication for about a month or so, which would hopefully be long enough for me to apply for medicaid and get covered long enough for me to scrounge for a job and make the money to pay for my own insurance. If you can find it in yourselves to donate, I wouldn't even be able to begin to express my gratitude for helping me fight this disease.
