Odiyan Community Car
Community Car for Volunteers at Odiyan Retreat Center
Odiyan is an all-volunteer non-profit retreat center established in 1975 by Tarthang Tulku, a master of the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.
A celebration of human potential and a home for the Dharma in the West, Odiyan’s dual mission is supporting and preserving the Buddhist cultures of Asia and modeling as a living experiment the integration of Buddhist principles and Western thought for the benefit of our planet and all of humanity.
***********************************************
We are fundraising for a Community Car as a reliable way for our small community of about 40 volunteers to travel to doctor, dentist or physical therapist appointments. Public transportation is not an option in our remote rural area.
We recently lost our beloved community car, an early-model Acura donated by the mother of one of our volunteers which we had successfully maintained for seven years. On our own, we cannot afford to purchase a car.
We are seeking donations towards the purchase of a new (used) car which we hope to get on the road within the next month.
We have very little by way of money or material goods. Your generosity would not only support a kind and hard-working group of Dharma practitioners, but would indirectly support Tarthang Tulku’s activities by protecting the health and well-being of his helpers, some of whom have been by his side for over thirty years.
Your donations are tax-deductible and you will receive receipt for your donation.
Thank you very much for your support.
