Anyone that knows my mother, Maria Solis, knows that she is one of the most hard-working, cheerful women ever. She's been a warrior through all of life's adversities. & I am not only saying this because she is my mother… I am speaking the truth. This woman works a full time job, takes care of my two siblings (12 year old & 15 year old), goes home to take care of more business, works a cash paying job in the evenings, and still finds the time to work out every single day!

But on May 20th, stress got the best of her. She fainted, lost consciousness, while working out on a treadmill at the gym, having a stroke. This fall caused her to fracture the back of her head and cause an internal bleed at her frontal lobe. This has caused her to be in a daze, confused, unable to have clear thoughts. It has affected her memory, her judgement, and her impulse control. She is beginning rehab soon, God willing on her way to normality again. But the one thing that still remains on her mind… STRESS. All she speaks about is work, bills, and her kids.

I am so heartbroken to see the woman who put her life before ours go through this. It is my turn to take care of this woman as she has our entire life. Being that I am married and not living with her and my younger siblings, things are very difficult. I am leaving my job to take care of my mother and her responsibilities as well as she would expect me to, for as long as she is unable to.

Her previous supervisor Kathy Cardona and current workplace (Modern Maintenance Building Services) have been very helpful and understanding. As a matter of fact, they brought GoFundMe to our attention. Now here we are. Seeking ANY small contribution to help my mother out. It would be immensely appreciated. I want to make sure once she is back 100% mentally, she finds everything as she left it and God willing, this will all just be a bad memory.
