Help Nova get to Nationals!

Dear friends and family,

Please help Nova raise money to attend USA Ski and Snowboarding Association snowboarding Nationals this year!

As you probably know, Nova has worked very hard over the past few years and started her first snowboard competitions last season. Her coaches all agree that she works harder than anyone on the mountain. Last year, however, her season was cut short due to a significant concussion. This year, she has qualified for the USASA snowboard national championships at Copper Mountain, Colorado. She has currently qualified for rails and is awaiting results for slalom and freestyle. Because she is so young and can sometimes be too hard on herself, we initially decided not to go. I sat her down to tell her this and before I said anything she said "mom, you don't have to worry about me. I decided I'm going to make the most of this experience even though I probably won't place", and promptly wrote a letter to our local ski shop asking for sponsorship, including a full (accurate as far as I can tell) budget. It's hard to say no to that kind of determination. You probably also know that Nova regularly raises money to buy her own snowboards and other gear each year. So, we decided to try and make a go of it, and she knows that her ability to go is reliant on fundraising and an open heart.

CURRENT STATUS: We have secured a (refundable if we don't go) condo nearby and are looking for donations to help with the cost of flights, including packing and flying her several snowboards and a car rental. Additional costs include mountain lift tickets and competition registration fees. Reach out if you have specific questions, she'd be happy to share her monetary proposal!
