Nic's cancer treatment fund

I am raising money for my sister Nicola, along with my family. Nic is a wife to Jez, devoted Mum of two teenagers, Cian and Cara, and is living with Stage 4 cancer (Basaloid Squamous Cell Carcinoma).

Nicola was misdiagnosed with Stage 3 cancer in March 2023 (in the UK) when an error interpretation of a PET scan failed to identify a small area of cancer in her liver.

As a result Nicola's cancer has advanced, despite chemo-radiation treatment for the primary tumour in April and May.

The initial cancer treatment was described as 'curative' and because of the error diagnosis Nic now finds herself unable to access further curative treatment in the UK.

Nicola now believes her best treatment option is integrated cancer care which is only available overseas. It involves conventional chemotherapy alongside complementary immune supporting anti-cancer treatments. The optimal treatment will be delivered over a 12 week period and will cost almost 37,000 sterling, excluding flights and accommodation. It will involve three days of intensive treatment per fortnight and will repeat for six cycles.
