Nick Stauffer's Recovery

Donation protected
On Saturday May 20th, Nick took a fall at Red Rocks that dislocated his knee and severed his popliteal artery, the main artery that supplies blood to the lower half of the leg. He was rushed into emergency surgery to repair the damaged artery and spent the rest of the week going through subsequent surgeries.

Nick went through 6 surgeries meant to heal the damaged artery and tissue and supply blood to his foot in order to restore functionality. After the 6th surgery, Nick chose to amputate his left leg after the surgeons were unable to open up the smaller vessels in the distal part of his foot and recommended amputation over a life filled with complications from this accident.

Any donations raised from this campaign will be used to pay hospital bills not covered by insurance, his two ambulance rides, his new wheelchair and prosthesis, and costs associated with physical therapy and rehabilitation.

Nick's family and friends have always been where Nick finds his strength and humor. We (Nick's family) appreciate our amazing community beyond words.
