On Saturday, June 20th, Nick Dearing was involved in a serious accident at work. As a result of a 5 vehicle pile-up, Nick and his co-worker Juan were trapped in their garbage truck until emergency services could free them 90 minutes later. Nick was airlifted to a level 1 trauma center where they determined that, due to extensive injuries, it would be necessary to amputate his left leg below the knee.
