Nicholas' National Pedal Pull Dream

Did you know I won second place in pedal tractor pulling at the Fayette County Fair? Guess what-- that sparked my legs to pedal further and faster! 
On Sunday, August 7, I continued on to the Ohio State Fair for the state championship title.
At the state fair I pulled 80 pounds 19 feet 6 inches. Just a few inches shy of second place but this was enough to place third and be invited to the National Pedal Tractor Pull at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota. This will be my sixth time pulling a sled and my very first time at the national championship!
Not only does this trip allow me compete it also provides an important opportunity for me to see one of our most famous National Landmarks-- Mt Rushmore.
Farm life has its ups and downs. This year has been a difficult one for us. The wet spring impacted our hay field. Also, of the 14 little piggies that arrived on our farm in April half were to be taken by a local restaurant in September but that also didn't work out as planned. Needless to say, the extra money we would have to provide for a big trip doesn't exist this year.
Please consider helping me get to South Dakota on September 24. For this is an experience that will be remembered for a lifetime!
