New Handicap Van For Danny
Donation protected
We started this campaign back in 2015 for Danny, but at the time it was put on hold because he thought his van would be more dependable after some major repairs. Unfortunately, now his van is completely immobilized due to a crack in a custom built gas tank, specialized, to outfit his particular van that cannot be repaired/replaced.
For the past three months, Danny has been mostly stuck at home and has no alternative way of getting around other than leaving home without his electrical wheelchair. It's incredibly uncomfortable for him not to be in his wheelchair for long periods of time.
Today, Danny is a fully licensed attorney, but due to his constant transportation struggles he deals with on a daily basis, he has been forced to work remotely from home. His new van will be vital in getting his legal career completely going.
Now more than ever he needs your help and understands that with the assistance of his family and friends, we can get him closer to fulfilling his wish of driving independently. A gift like this would mean the world to him and it's certainly something he would be forever grateful for.
Fortunately, Vocational Rehabilitation, a federal-state program, will help cover the costs of the handicap conversion. However, Vocational Rehabilitation will NOT cover the cost of the van itself. The conversion for a handicap van costs altogether about $130,000. Our goal is $50,000 because that's the estimate of purchasing a van that fits all of his needs.
Any contribution would be greatly appreciated, even the smallest donations can help us reach our goal and get Danny his new custom-made van that he will drive independently!

For those who do not know Danny, he's a really great guy who appreciates all that life has given him. Never have I heard him ask anyone for anything. I've had the pleasure of knowing Danny since kindergarten and this has been his van since middle school. Danny was born with a neuromuscular disease called Muscular Dystrophy and has been wheelchair bound since the age of 10.
At the age of 16, he suffered from a condition called Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) in which his entire body shut down and he was forced into an induced coma. He spent three months in Broward General Hospital Intensive Care Unit. Somehow, he miraculously recovered with the help of a tracheostomy and use of a ventilator that he must use every night to sleep. He later on underwent a procedure in order to correct his spine from severe scoliosis and a collapsed lung.
Despite all this, he recently graduated from the Florida State University and is now attending Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center to become a lawyer one day. Danny lives life to the fullest, and even though his van is in rough condition, he hasn't asked anyone for help so I wanted to take the time to do this for him. He's such a wonderful person with a huge heart.
Currently, the van is constantly in and out of the shop. The handicap door/ramp no longer works automatically. Aside from the handicap functions no longer working properly, the rear bumper broke off, the transmission is jerky, and the interior is shot.
Please help one of my best friends as well as many others' good friend receive the funding for a brand new van that will be modified so he can drive!
