Ride Across Canada in 2026

Hey, Everyone:

New fundraiser. In two years I want to ride across Canada.

I came to Canada as a 7 - 10 years old child in 1976.

One of my dreams has been to travel across the country from West to East. I have travelled from Toronto to Vancouver on the Greyhound bus and discovered how much I really love travelling by land. For me it's pure happiness.

I have a chronic illness, my one and only kidney is failing. It's not in failure. The one joy in my life that always uplifts me, aside from friends and family, is riding my recumbent e-trike. I have had three stolen, one returned (I donated it to a daycare). The most recent trike has been spray painted and motorized so I could ride further and more often. The spray painting was to uglify it, so it wouldn't stand out as much.

The plan is to start on Vancouver Island and ride east all the way to Newfoundland. I will be riding 100 kilometres a day. Hoping it will take five months, from May 01 - September 01, 2026. I will be riding four days a week with twhree days rest. Two days, riding, one day of rest, two days riding and two days of rest. So 400 kilometres a week. I will also only be riding during daylight hours.

To make this a reality, I will need, about $20000. Which will be for the ride itself.

Costs will go towards, accommodation, food, medical supplies and spare parts for the trike. Also if anyone wants to be a driver to follow me, for my safety and carrying all my stuff to keep my trike as light as possible. Another $20000 for fundraising for Canada Kidney Foundation and the Toronto Bike Brigade

I am also looking for sponsors to support my ride across the country. Looking at the Kidney Foundation of Canada and Toronto Bike Brigade and anyone else who wants to.
