On New Years Eve when most folks are celebrating a great end to the year Nathan was finishing a tour. He had moved his camera gear from the tour van to his Jeep Cherokee and ran inside to clock out. When he came back 15 minutes later, he found his passenger window smashed out and all of his camera gear missing. He called the police and they were able to track down his Apple device that was ditched in a bush around the corner. But that’s it. This theft has dealt a $10,000 low blow to Nate wiping out a perfect setup he had spent years acquiring. Unfortunately the past 6 months of his images were also stolen and are irreplaceable...
Nathan just learned on 1/3/2020 that his car insurance will only cover 10% of the stolen photography equipment.
Nathan has utilized his camera gear to capture and collect the beauty that many folks try to hide or crop out of their shots. He has been driven to show the human element in all he sees. Even his expansive landscapes include the human element as he rejects the ideology of pristine wilderness.
As Nathan’s younger brother I have had the opportunity to travel and explore on many of his photography trips. He has taught me a lot about photography and we are always talking about gear. To hear Nathan doesn’t have his gear anymore due to someone’s selfish theft was disheartening on New Years Eve. It was not a very good way to welcome the new year.
I waited to launch this go fund me until we knew he would only get a small fraction back from his car/renters insurance. If you can please donate a bit to help Nathan start out a stellar photography year in 2020 with a good camera and lens setup that would be awesome and would restore some faith in humanity for the both of us. Happy New Year and May your 2020 be healthy, happy, and prosperous!
