Natalie's Road 2 Recovery
Donation protected
To our dear friends, family and community,
On Saturday, January 13th, 2018, our lives changed forever. Our daughter Natalie Theibert, a sophomore at Reynoldsburg High School and a competitive swimmer, was in a tragic accident and broke her neck.
She and our son were playing in the snow and in the blink of an eye, she was lying there motionless. Our son quickly ran to get help and before we could even understand what had happened, Natalie was rushed to Nationwide Children’s Hospital… one of the scariest moments of our lives.
Natalie broke her C5 vertebrate and suffered bruising on her spinal cord. As soon as her vitals were strong, she went into a 12-hour surgery to repair her vertebrate. Now with limited mobility below her shoulders, she will be on the rehab floor at Children’s for the next 4 weeks. Although we have faith she will walk again, when she leaves the hospital, she will be in a wheelchair.
Natalie is a strong-willed girl and fighting hard, but she still has a long road to recovery ahead and needs your support. Her dad, Fergus, and I want to create a comfortable space for her on the first floor of our home with the necessary equipment to help her feel as independent as possible during her recovery. Unfortunately a permanent space will not be ready before she comes home, so we will also need to create a temporary living space for her until construction is complete.
Our estimated costs are over $30,000 to cover home modifications and construction, time off work, medical bills and supplies, and we’re asking you to help us make a difference on Natalie’s road to recovery.
Help doesn’t just mean monetary donations. If you have home construction skills, can paint a room, say a prayer or spread this message, you can help Natalie and our family!
Please help us spread this message as we are on a limited timeline and getting ready to start construction.
Thank you all for the love and support you already have shown us and continue to show us each day. We are truly blessed to be a part of this amazing community.
