Nandi's Pharmacy School Cost

Donation protected
It's the last stretch! I've finally learned my passion is for Ambulatory Pharmacy. This means I will have to do another year as a resident and then I can specialize in any disease state and become a clinical pharmacist. There's just something about talking to patients directly and coming up with long term sustainable solutions to their medication troubles that makes me feel amazing. Of course it's not a simple task. I have to go through a "matching" process within the next few months to try and get into someones residency program. Right now I am raising funds to go to Mid-Year Residency conference in Orlando, FL. It's from December 3rd - 7th. The website for more information is: https://midyear17.ashp.org/ From registration, to travel, and lodging.. prices are rising quickly. The earlier I book everything the cheaper it will be. Prices now for everything are coming out to be between $1150-$1,500.

In addition to this, as you know I'm graduating in May 2018 to receive my Doctorate in Pharmacy!!! YES! But not without dishing a bunch of money out first-Lol. I have to pass my board exams (The Naplex) and a Law exam for every state that I want to be licensed in (Since Im from the DMV and I live in New Orleans- for me that means at least 2 Law exams, Maryland and Louisiana). The Naplex cost $500 to take, and the law very by state. For requirements and cost by state https://nabp.pharmacy/boards-of-pharmacy/ I anticipate needing another $1,000 - $1,110 for these cost.

Please please please spread the word and help me close out this chapter in my life with a BANG! I am soooo appreciative of all the support I've had these last 5 years throughout my college experience. I honestly and truly couldn't have made it through without your support. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, and THANK YOU!

In undergrad I raised $45,000 in college scholarships. My first year of pharmacy school, I raised $24,000! Thank you tremendously for all of the support I have had throughout this experience.  Lots of great things are happening. I started my first Pharmacy-related job as an In-patient Pharmacy Intern at Oschner Hospital in New Orleans. I really feel like I made the right decision with my career choice because it brings me joy to come to work and compound medicine for patients' specific needs.

My GoFundMe campaign is crucial to fundraising. Every year my school expects for me to come up with the difference of my financial aid. If my parents were finacially stable. I would not have a GoFundMe campaign. Instead, part of the reason I am in pharmacy school is to help provide stability for my family. I worked 3 jobs in previous summers to support myself and my parents have done everything they can to help me keep a roof over my head. I am also applying for additional scholarships and grants so please send those applications (and contact people) my way!

I have never felt more comfortable and found school more enjoyable than I do here at Xavier University's College of Pharmacy. When I am a Pharmacist and a successful working adult, I will continue the cycle of paying it forward and helping the young people coming behind me to be successful too!

Thank you!
