Today was just like any other beautiful day in Southern California. I brought Nala and Nikita over to their favorite place to run and play just like I do everyday. Well, as it turns out everything went to hell in and hand basket real quick. I saw them both going after something under a bush and figured it was just another squirrel. After running over to see what it was I found that it was a 4-5 ft rattle snake that was as big around as my forearm and both the dogs had already been bitten in the face. After quickly dispatching the snake with my pocket knife I immediately ran home and got the dogs to the emergency vet. They are currently in the ICU at Mission Animal and Bird Hospital in Oceanside, CA. As many of you already know these dogs are like our babies and we love them as if they were. The cost of this vet bill for both dogs is at $5000 right now. I make my income from the GI Bill and Eden is a nanny so we aren't rolling in cash. This is going to wipe out every last cent we have been saving over the last 4 years plus some.
