It is time for the Nadia DiMasi 6th Annual Memorial Scholarship to benefit New Paltz High School Seniors in memory of Nadia Dimasi, a graduate of the class of 1994. Our goal this year is $4000. In 2022 the funds gifted 20 New Paltz High School Graduates $200 each. In 2023 we donated $500 to one graduate to begin our stretch to keep this scholarship going for many years to come. Most of the donations have been from people who have never had the chance to know Nadia and are complete strangers. That is a huge heart of you all.

Our beautiful friend Nadia was killed by a drunk and drugged driver November 26th 2000 at the age of 24 simply by in his path innocently. This memorial scholarship is an incredible way to carry on Nadia’s name through life of another New Paltz High School Graduate. Every time someone says Nadia’s name out loud people are told of how wonderful she was. The scholarship award I set up will be gifted to a student who is consistently known for random acts of kindness and accepted into a 2 or 4 year college or a graduate entering the workforce. I am hoping we can support one student each year but now thinking I want to divide it up to help many.

To not have the 5th Nadia Dimasi Memorial Scholarship be the final year have pivoted to gifting one student $500 and the remaining money will allow us to continue to gift one student $500 each year for multiple years keeping Nadia’s memory alive through New Paltz High School Alumni. As it is now we can we can gift $500 for this year and the next 5 years consecutively. Please continue to donate. 

I will collect the money and bring to the school for the scholarship donation for all donations through this Fundraiser. If you prefer to pay by Venmo please let me know and I will provide my venmo information. We have as well received checks in the mail in the past. We have switching to the GoFundMe platform as Facebook is removing other donation options.

Our first year 2019 we raised $700.00. Our second year 2020 we raised $1500.00 gifting 5 senior graduates $300 each. This raised $2650! We gifted 13 graduates from the NPHS Class of 2021 $200 each and have $50 for the 2022. In 2022 we gifted 20 students $200 each. In 2023 we gifted $500. In total in 5 years we have gifted $9300 thanks to your continued support.
