Help WSF Sled Hockey Team
Tax deductible
The Wheelchair Sport Federation Sled Hockey Team sponsored by the NY Rangers is a part of the 501(c)(3), tax deductible, non-profit organization Wheelchair Sports Federation. The team is comprised of people with various disabilities, who love to play the sport of ice hockey and will not let their limitations stop them.
The WSF NY Rangers Sled Hockey Team is in need of your support for the upcoming 2013-14 season. Funding will pay for the Northeast Sled Hockey League dues, tournament fees, equipment, and travel (Pittsburgh, PA; Philadelphia, PA; Exeter, NH; Marlborough, MA).
Last year, the WSF NY Rangers Sled Hockey Team played in USA Hockey's NHL Sled Classic, a tournament that is open for sled hockey teams with NHL affiliation. With great honor, the WSF NY Rangers Sled Hockey Team represented the NY Rangers NHL organization in that competition. The team also represented the NY Rangers organization in the Open A division at the 9th Annual USA National Disabled Hockey Festival in Philadelphia, PA.
A break down of the expected costs for 2013-14:
- NESHL dues and tournament entrance fees: $3,550
- Travel costs (estimate): $8,250
- Replacement sticks, sleds, parts: $1,000
Total Costs for 2013-14 Season: $12,800
The WSF NY Rangers Sled Hockey Team also participates in charitable outreach programs, partnering with the MSG Garden of Dreams for 'Dream Week', introducing inner city youth to hockey for the first time. Members of the team also mentor and coach the NY Junior Rangers Sled Hockey Team, teaching and empowering kids with disabilities to play the sport they love.
We thank you in advance for your support. Your donation helps us defer the high costs of competing, which is especially important for athletes with disabilities.
