NYC Marathon for St. Mary's NICU

Hi everyone! I am (one of) the proud Aunts of Owen and Lily, our two little blessings, both NICU babies from St. Mary’s Hospital. By the power of prayer and the care at St. Mary’s, Owen and Lily are both thriving today. I have now seen my sister and brother-in-law go through the difficult process of watching their tiny, little baby spend the first few weeks of life in an incubator, not once, but twice. They have shown such strength and I know are forever grateful for the tremendous care given to them at St. Mary’s. This last time, with Lily, cameras were set up over each baby’s crib, allowing the families to stream a live feed at any time on a personal computer. We were thrilled…and my sister Abby, Lily's Mom (shall I mention the Peds nurse), received my almost daily texts, from 1000 miles away, checking in when I thought Lily’s stomach was moving too fast, breathing looked too heavy, something was on her eyes (turned out to be goggles to protect her from a particular light to help her grow), or arm looked uncomfortable. Because I definitely know what I am talking about… Something as simple as these cameras were available to use by a donation made to the NICU.

I am running the NYC Marathon, this November, in support of the St. Mary’s NICU through the Children’s services fund. The funds are used to improve and enhance services and be available to those most in need.

The Funds from Children’s Services support various needs, such as;

-          Technological advancements and equipment

-          Services for NICU families

-          Covering expenses, allowing all children to receive care 

From Owen and Lily, to future babies and families just starting life in the St. Mary’s NICU.
