This past July 3 young talented NYC athletes competed at the 2015 USA National Karade Do Federation Tournament held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. They travelled to Florida, looking for a chance to clinch their rightful spot on TEAM USA. They fought against tough competition from all over the country for four days, and after many rounds of sparring they qualified to represent TEAM USA at the upcoming Junior Pan American Championships that will be held in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
Unfortunately this trip is very costly. The USA Karate Federation has very limited funds and does not cover any of its junior athletes expenses. These expenses are as follows:
Flight to Bolivia from NY with a guardian- $1500/ea
Hotel for mandatory minimum of 6 nights- $1000
Administrative fees for the USA karate team- $350
Visa to Bolivia- $135/ea
Yellow fever vaccince- $150/ea
+ Daily Expenses.....
