Dear Friends and Patrons of the Arts,
Welcome to Norwalk Metropolitan Youth Ballet. We, the Holms Brothers, created NMYB in 2014 based on our common belief that participation in the arts changes lives and holds the powerful potential to reshape the future of our communities.
Our vision is already coming to life while we build our home and we're excited to invite you to help us construct it. We've already accomplished so much, including obtaining proper mirrors and one very generous donor furnished all of our ballet barres. We've run many advertising campaigns which have been successful in drawing new students. We've had outstanding press and we are still being contacted for interviews. Everyone from local newspapers, news blogs, video news blogs, dance industry magazines and blogs, local magazines as well as the New York Times want to share our story.
In order for our home to be complete, we need to install proper dance flooring and transform our "waiting area" into a more comfortable "living room" for parents and siblings. Our dancers have been working on the hardwood floor, which is traditional and wonderful, but is very slippery for our ladies on pointe. Right now they use rosin on their pointe shoes, but we can do better than that! With your help, we can raise enough money to install a proper dance floor. Our parents are waiting in a hallway. This speaks volumes about how dedicated our NMYB Charter Families are to this movement. They see the kind of ballet education their children are receiving and they are willing to wait with us in the hallway. We are committed to doing our best to make every member of our NMYB family comfortable.
The Norwalk Metropolitan Youth Ballet is proud to herald in a new era of creativity and mentorship. NMYB has designed a curriculum which respects the traditions and canons of classical dance. Our goal is to provide a technically comprehensive and artistically meaningful education. We are prepared to meet the needs of both recreational dancers as well as individuals who hope to pursue a career in the arts. We look forward to serving the community with integrity and compassion by providing enrichment services to under-served populations.
Please take a moment to read through our sponsorship opportunities and select the one which suits you. Please contact us with any questions you may have. Thank you for helping us build our dreams and welcome to the NMYB family!
