This "NM CS PD Week" workshop is organized by Paige Prescott of CSTA-NM. There are a number of great workshop strands for teachers to attend including:
- Project GUTS: CS in Science
- Bootstrap: CS in Math
- Code.org CS Discoveries
- Code.org K5
- NM CSforAll
- AP CS Principles
- Project Lead the Way
- Oracle Academy's Database Foundations
- Arduinos (CS for Afterschool)
Over 200 teachers (80 more than anticipated) have applied to attend the workshop on June 4-8th on the Albuquerque campus of University of New Mexico. Many of the teachers are from rural communities and ones who we have not been able to attract before. Help us get them the preparation they want and need!
The funds raised will be used to cover teacher's travel, lodging, workshop registration fees (which include lunch and materials), and stipend.
Travel: varies by location, in mileage reimbursement.
Lodging: $250 for 5 nights, shared rooms
Registration (covers 5 lunches, materials, and a smal portion of conference site rental): $350 for 5 days of workshop.
Stipend: $595 for 5 days.
We need to raise these funds by March 1st, 2018 to accommodate these 80 extra teachers. Being able to support these teachers could potentially impact 5000 students!
