Help us save starving labs

Last weekend, one of our most active volunteers was at a rural, high kill shelter picking up a foster dog, when she saw something she just couldn't walk away from... So back our volunteer came with three terrified dogs, all malnourished Lab mixes with horrible skin and signs of suffering. The one who we thought was the "puppy" of the group turned out to be three years old...but was so small and frail we thought he was only a few months old. His name is Luke and he is fighting for his life. He is severely anemic from all of the worms and fleas feeding off of his tiny body. Prolonged starvation has taken its toll. We are doing all we can to save him, but he doesn't understand. He is terrified, and will need a great deal of support from the vet. His buddy Neo and Neo's mother Vega are in rough shape too, but Luke is by far the worst. Amazingly, the former owner has four more dogs just like this to surrender, but the pound doesn't have space and doesn't want to bring them in, only to have to put them to sleep. We have no money to take on complex care for four more health compromised, potentially heartworm positive dogs on top of these three. We want to, don't get us wrong, but the piggy bank is empty. We are also out of space, so would need to look at boarding...which takes us back to that empty piggy bank.

Once again, we make our plea to out amazing supporters. Do you have it in you to help us...again...save more lives...again? We are all in, up for the big challenge. We will do all the heavy lifting. But we need financial help...for which we are beyond grateful.
