Our mission is to unify and engage the Northern New Jersey community in the participation and promotion of blues performances and educational initiatives. The NJBS goals and priorities include:

• Promoting performances by local, regional, and national blues artists with a devoted interest in blues and American roots music.

• Providing artistic programming that offers opportunities for community engagement and interactive educational experiences for both artists and audiences.

• Preserving and increasing awareness of the blues by championing its founding artists, illuminating the history of this genre, and showcasing its cultural impact worldwide.

The North Jersey Blues Society received a grant from the Passaic County Cultural & Heritage Council to enable the Blues Alive program in two NJ school systems. Check out this video of the Blues Alive program:

The funds raised will be used to match the grant funds. Any funds in excess will be used to expand our educational initiatives.
