Help Myyah on her Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Tirzah, and I'm creating this campaign on behalf of my little sister, Myyah. Last Wednesday (1/19/22), during a mundane trip to get groceries, she was hit head-on by a speeding (uninsured, invalid license, etc) driver , which he admitted fault.
Initially, we weren't aware of the severity of her injuries until the ER surgeons explained that her spine had been fractured and was pushing on her spinal cord, causing the lameness in her leg. In addition, the surgeon explained that vertebrae would need to be removed along with parts of her spine fused to support her back. On top of that, she would have a rod and screws placed permanently within her back.
After a 5 hr surgery, several tests and MRIs, Myyah was finally discharged to come home Monday night (1/23/22). Seeing your youngest sister rely on a walker and live in a metal caged back brace saddens my heart. The road to recovery will be a long one, and now we're faced with the reality that she will need months of rehab, a laundry list of medical bills and unemployment. While we navigate the logistics (police report, insurance, etc), we ask for donations as she cannot receive insurance through her job. Any assistance and support would be greatly appreciated as we go through this trying time.
