My name is Melissa Jane. 
A Hairdresser, Hair loss specialist, Teacher and a mother of 2! 

My friend Lianne was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021. After a bad experience together wig shopping I felt an injustice to my friend and many other women in her position. It was cold & unpersonalised. Wigs were not made to suit the clients face/skin tone. Most are too structured with no room for client identity and are extremely expensive . 

As a hairdresser I am passionate about making women feel sensational and strong with their hair but it dawned on me that once they are diagnosed with a life threatening illness resulting in hair loss they lose my touch and are referred to other facilities who can not deliver a personal service. Through my love for Lianne, my passion for hair and people it led me to discover this charity 
“MY Touch” by Melissa Jane 

I saw how sad my friend was so i knew I needed to help. After hours of extensive research and creativity we designed our first ever personalised wig similar to her own hair with the help of the team, and it was a success

In honour of Lianne I created this charity in the hope of being able to donate A FREE PERSONALISED WIG to anyone suffering Hair loss due to a critical illness. However I can not do this alone, I will need sponsors to help support the purchase of further supplies to create more wigs for any affected ladies. 

In return I will be posting photos of the wigs and clients (if they consent) on my page & keeping you updated with case studies. 

It is said that Wedding dress shopping is both intimate and personal. For a woman it must reflect the personality & style of the bride. !! 
Why should Hair shopping be any different. Why can’t it be the best day of their lives again, giving them their own personality and style back.
