My Story-CATCH 22, Neuro needs-TBI

Hi, My name is Shari.

Thank you for taking time to read my story, your consideration to help with medical needs and urgent essential living expenses. This is hard for me, I have put my pride aside to ask for help. So much has unfolded since I started this GFM campaign late last year, 2023. I am currently updating by adding the new effects of an injury endured Feb.2024, adding more layers to existing challenges, keeping me in quick sand.While taking quite a toll on my recovery to better health.

And to top it off, the additional expenses needed for these hurricanes impacting us here in Central and SW Florida over past few years, particularly this year-2024.

Since Y2K to present day 12/1/24, it has been back to back major trials due to NDE, as result of various ripple effects, leading to job loss off an on, combined with declining health.

The end of 2023, I had to leave the east coast from flooding out my job opportunities, having a mini stroke, not getting the neuro treatment needed to discern what cause is going on- The social and case managers while in hospital knowing I need a physical rehab facility, or at least out patient support has been a no go, telling me I don’t qualify…I recently got denied again for disability and Medicaid for a 3rd time each since 2020. And since this car accident, the clinic won’t see me for Neuro or Physical therapy, albeit doctor referral. Will not see me if I’m in need of wheelchair of fatigue or flare up to get back to van! I thought that is what PT is for…

More to the story…

I moved here with a vision to work towards my dreams alongside a renewed vision of better health and happiness chasing sunsets and getting closer to God, my healer, $50 in the purse and a tank of gas… off I go to continue this adventure. I bounced east side to the west side for new beginnings and a fresh re-start. Well, I’ll just say~ that didn’t last long!

Jan. 2024 the job I came to west for turned out a “ghost offering!” so on to the Next~

Feb. 2024~ I was able to find flexible work and a wonderful employer willing to work my health limitations. However, 3 weeks after landing this great job I was in an auto accident. Then, lost the job 3 weeks afterwards. My attorney pulled out since the other party at fault didn’t have sufficient coverage to pay my medical bills and on going treatments. Again, left holding the bag from another negligence. Nearly $40,k before any plan of care from visits to a needed Neuro, which mentioned hybarbaric chambers, supplements and another DTI MRI. However, this Neuro and Neuro Surgeon both also cancelled appt due to lack of medical insurance beyond my 10,000 PIP limits and on 10k BI limits on AFP policy. Not been able to find another attorney to take my case despite MRI revealing I have concussion, 2 new disk herniations, nerve damage. This has exasperated the former brain /CNS damage even more, debilitating with now cognitive decline taking my preexisting to a very taxing extreme level of pain throughout head and overall body, testing my emotional and physical strength to the max.

All this trauma has triggered something attacking my immune system shutting my body down, to be determined if I can get my benefits reinstated. I have called so many Neurologists over this past year seeking help, and urgently again now after the concerning injury from the car accident this past February! I’ve called these specialists to inquire as a self pay, $275- $350 is avg range for appt. With the Neuro Surgeon $700-$1,200. Mayo Clinic could get me in, but need upwards of $5,000 deposit as self pay just to get on a list to be seen, but now advised after referral, they won’t see me since no insurance, Meanwhile I’m declining rapidly!

I have been denied SSDI and MEDICAID 3 times since 2020! I have not been able to get specialty doctors to look at my case from last year, nor injuries from this year. Everyday I feel I’m working a job CHASING THE SYSTEM and leading to pure exhaustion from all this, what feels as if, a training on SURVIVAL of the fittest…

I am in need of help to keep my van (reduced means to alternative/affordable shelter) from repo, car insurance and cell phone intact as I am once again, struggling to keep up. I have nothing else to sell to keep afloat, and kindly finding myself asking again, for any assistance. I’m all borrowed out and need help until I can get in front of an appeals Judge, coming up soon.

Every $5, $10,$20 can help towards keeping me from losing my only “affordable shelter.” I also ASK FOR YOUR PRAYERS, God knows all the specifics of my needs…

Lucky to be ALIVE~A little bit about that back story.

24 years ago I was in a coma for 7 days, experienced a NDE (near death experience) paralyzed from neck down due to Herpes Zoster Encephalitis (Varicella and Epstein Barr) it was finally figured out, my complaints throughout that year became relevant, I didn’t have the flu… sadly, by way of being drugged in a night club in Orlando, landing me in the ER, “it/I” was finally taken serious. I still have residual neuro effects on the brain, post virus. I have been trying to turn an event so traumatic, slowly exposing more of it all together for the good. Talk about trying to find the positive in such a mess, and a hospital bills over 2 MILLION dollars for starters! I have had to come to terms on how to be grateful to such an event that lead this way of overcoming as I now know it, producing cascading effects afterwards in LIFE? ‍

‍ME~I AM ALIVE and HE, Jesus, told me it’s not my time to come home yet… so finding my purpose and sharing with others, inspiring me to remain inspirational, not only for myself, hopefully helping others in some fashion.

This virus created neurological damage to the brain, causing speech and mobility challenges to fight for freedom beyond that wheelchair, walker, cane and eventually shine periodically as a OVERCOMER on the dance floor.

Personally, I have found that MUSIC helps my brain and body function better. Dance, my outlet, and drug of choice, has been the best modality, cheaper too, ok, well let’s say more “affordable!” Physical therapy.

Although, these days since the accident, it is so much harder to maintain daily needs, or visit to a dance floor for such physical therapy, due to elevated sensory issues that flare up mobility.

These occurrences keep me from gainful employment, and my social environments and networks diminished.

It is the hardest part of having a “dis’d~ABILITY”, I “look” healthy yet having internal chaos from each trigger causing downtime. The ripple effects continue to effect my central nervous system over the years, high pitch sounds, car alarms, bells, lighting, chemicals, along with multiple others, like allergies mold/mildew/cats to food with milk, wheat, soy, some preservatives.

This bubble girls rise journey has slowly become a solo gig to say the least. The chronic effects is debilitating my health the longer without treatment or contine to seek further diagnosis. I need money to self pay for compounding meds I need to find out about. I recently found out all the meds prescribed have LACTOSE in them. Thanks CVS Pharmacist for alerting me after catching this! Many people seem to try understand, but only those closest witness the results (cause ~ effect) triggering reactions with a lot of down time behind closed doors, causing many these various losses personally and professionally.

This continual health quest has emotionally burdened and financially bankrupted this 2nd LEASE ON LIFE, leaving its mark on my tenacity nearly tanked, resiliency needing respite and perseverance completely pooped.‍♀️

I continue doing my best to maintain a positive mindset that keeps learning how to reinvent myself, rising from income insecurities due the pandemic and various storms in life forward til now, all influenced by state of health, a combination that is keeping me in quicksand!

I am hoping once I can get insurance or enough money for self pay, I can get appts. Set up with these specialists, I need answers. There are days I’m laid up nor able to walk or barely function from extreme head pain a stroke like symtoms. I am hoping I can hold on until it all comes together. I have been told my case is expedited,
