Hi! My name is Brae and I am desperately seeking your help! See, this is my momi, Shaneka, in one of my favorite pictures of us together.

On 9/30/25 when I got home from school and she wasn't there I instantly knew something was wrong! No one was answering the phone and only my older brother was home. When I asked where mom was he got really quiet and didn't give me a straight answer. I ran to my friends house to see if her mom could reach her and after several calls and texts she never answered. I immediately felt a sense of fear and panic.

My dad finally got home and sat me down. It was then that I found out my momi got in a really bad car accident where the car caught on fire while she was trapped inside. Luckily there was a man in a trash truck driving by and saw the car on fire and stopped. If it had not been for that man and the other who stopped and called 911 she would have died! I wish I knew their names so I could Thank them for saving my momi.

I eventually learned she had lost consciousness and that is what caused her to crash. She doesn't remember much leading up to the accident but remembers feeling lost and confused. Ultimately she was rushed to the hospital. After several days in there she was finally released on a heart monitor and on seizure precautions for six months and can’t drive. She has to be under the ongoing care of both a heart and a head doctor to determine what's causing her black outs. I can tell she is anxious about what is to come.

She received a hospital estimate and it was almost $18,000 for just her first day (I found the folder).

She is essentially out of work until we know what's wrong because she practically drives for a living. She delivers for Amazon Flex (which I loved doing with her to keep her company on the road) and transports 3 little boys to their daily extracurricular activities. She also JUST submitted her LLC for her courier business 2 days before the accident and was about to start driving for Lyft.

So This is why I am here! The hospital expenses alone are costly. But now she's also not able to keep up with her regular bills. We are moving next Friday, and while as a family we are excited for a fresh start, my momi is really scared. She cries a lot and I can see she's in pain, but even today she pushed through and (slowly) showed up for my little brother's Big game.

She may not ask but I know she really needs your help to pay off these bills and get through these upcoming months. Anything helps thank you a lot!
