My dad has suddenly been taken into critical care last Sunday. He has been in the hospital ever since. He is currently fighting 2 bacterial infections. Not good ones and is at a hospital facility in Johannesburg 12 hours away from home. Without my mom.

This hospital is the best medical facility specializing in kidneys. We just recently found. Out my dad has a very aggressive prostate cancer in addition to his kidney failure. He was scheduled to receive radiation and had a few rounds until the doctors discovered the bacterial infection is way too great of a risk and needs to be controlled first before care can continue.

We are unsure of how long he will be in the hospital. Until the bacteria is handled he is in el to further receive radiation. Each time the test results come back it looks a bit worse. Once they contain the infection radiation will resume for 6 weeks.

The ultimate goal is to get my father healthy enough to be able to receive a kidney since he is in sever kidney failure. He is only 70 and the burden and financial stress on his shoulders seem to make him hopeless.

Who know what the whole financial picture will look like at the end but my heart bleeds for my family. Last thing they need to worry about is the financial burdens. My dad needs to focus on being strong and staying positive. He is weak.

I have been helping my mother to take care of paying the bills and living at home that needs to be maintained so that the burden of financials is not anything any family would wish to worry about during such a critical and emotional time in the family.

I am pulling my hair out as I think about how I could possibly just have the answer at hand. I give my family everything I have and it makes me sleep better at night.
