I would like you to meet my friend Christine. We have been friends for decades. I have watched her after a divorce, as a single mom raise two boys, now grown men. She also is Oma to 5 amazing grandchildren. The last one is less than 2 months old. In 2018 she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She did chemo and radiation into 2019, all the time continuing to work. Unfortunately, her job does not offer her short or long-term disability. She is not one to ask for help. After being told she was free of cancer, she continued with her life. In early November she was not feeling well and went to the doctor. She has been diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer which has spread through organs and with spots on her spine. This is not curable. With treatment, it could be controlled and give her years to watch her bright spots (her son's and grandbabies grow). Her wish is to watch them grow and see what they become. She dreams of meeting her great-grandchildren. She needs help financially to help with lost wages during testing and treatments. Yes, she is going to try and work through this. She has nothing to fall back on. I had to convince her it's okay to ask for help. She can still be a strong woman with no shame from her needs. If you could please help her and pray for her. Every dollar will help no matter the amount. Thank you for letting me share Christine's story.
