Hey there – thanks so much for stopping by my gofundme page!
Tell us about yourself.
Hi! I’m Olivia – currently holding the title of Ms West Yorkshire. Over the years, I’ve worn many titles: artist, musician, project manager, daughter, wife, mum… and now, pageant girlie! I’m also competing in the UK’s National Miss Pageant, hoping to add “UK’s National Ms” to that list too.
Why have I chosen to do this?
Since having my daughter, I look at the world in a new light. I've always been confident and at ease on the stage and in front of people, but I found myself feeling lost, and unprepared for the trials of motherhood. Often feeling completely out of my depth.
I wanted to feel confident again even when it was underpinned with fear.
I joined the pageant world not for the glitz and glam, but because I heard about the amazing, supportive community it offers. I wanted to find that confidence again – even if it meant stepping out of my comfort zone. It’s scary putting your true self out there, knowing people will form opinions. But it’s also incredibly empowering to show up as you, unapologetically.
That’s the message I want to share – with my community, and especially with my daughter. Just like my mum taught me the importance of self-worth and self-belief, I want to pass that on with honesty and heart. And yes, I might show up to the office or the pub a little overdressed – but life’s too short not to wear what makes you feel amazing.
Tell us about your platform
As an advocate of increasing self-worth in young women, I chose to support a charity that brings mental health education and support to young people across Northern Ireland and, from this year, the rest of the UK. In 2023, approximately 20.3% of children aged 8 to 16 in England were identified as having a probable mental disorder.
Girls aged 11–16 were four times more likely than boys to have an eating disorder—4.3% of girls compared to 1.0% of boys. Among children aged 5–16, emotional disorders (such as anxiety and depression) are more common in girls than boys. Girls are particularly more likely to experience anxiety-related conditions.
Girls aged 16–24 are three times more likely than boys to experience common mental health issues, including self-harm, anxiety, and PTSD. Despite higher prevalence, many girls still face barriers to accessing mental health services. Girls are more likely to seek help than boys, but services are often overstretched, and many are not accepted into treatment even after referral
Why UberHeroes®?
I’m passionate about helping young people – especially girls – build their self-worth. That’s why I’ve chosen to support UberHeroes®, part of Hope 4 Life NI, a charity that brings mental health education to young people across Northern Ireland – and now, the rest of the UK.
UberHeroes® uses storytelling and superheroes to teach kids about mental health in a way that’s fun, relatable, and effective. Each of their comics is based on real stories from young people, and each hero represents a key pillar of mental wellbeing – like resilience, mindfulness, and emotional regulation.
Through workshops, kids get to explore these stories, role-play characters, and talk openly about the challenges the characters face – all in a safe, non-judgmental space. It helps them spot early signs of mental health struggles, understand what’s going on, and learn practical tools to cope.
And the best part? These conversations don’t stop when the workshop ends. Teachers, parents, and carers often continue the discussions, helping to build a lasting support network around each child.
What’s next?
From April 2025, UberHeroes® launched a 2-year licence to bring this award-winning programme to schools and organisations across Great Britain. It’s already made a huge impact in Northern Ireland – and now it’s time to bring that same support to even more young people.
Where is the money going?
100% of the funds raised on this page will go to Hope 4 Life NI via direct donation to their JustGiving page. Up to £500 of these donations will be matched through the Lloyds Banking Group Foundation matched giving allowance, hoping that our total will be £1000 to give to the charity.
