Teddy's Surgery Fund

Dear Friends and Family,

We are asking for your help.

You probably know that for me and Angel, like so many of you, our dogs are like our kids. Teddy and Charlie are a huge part of our family and we would do anything for them. I'm sure you can relate.

Back in May, Teddy ("Mr. President") tore his cruciate (puppy ACL) in his right hind leg while at the dog park. He was running like the wind (as he does) and it just tore. He needed surgery or he was going to be a three legged dog in a lot of pain at the age of 3. Angel and I were devastated. But we had to help our boy. With me being in Grad School, we didn't have $2,000. Still, somehow we were going to make it work. With the help of family and a lot of extra shifts at work, we were finally able to pay the surgeon's bill off, just last week.

Teddy had made a full recovery. He was back to his old self. Until...

Two weeks ago, it happened again. We don't know how, but he tore his cruciate in his lefthind leg. The doctor says that it's a genetic flaw that our little man has. The doctor is confidant that his previous surgery in the right hind leg will hold up. Again, we could just let it be and let our Teddy be a 3 three legged dog. That doesn't bother us as much as all the pain he would be in for the rest of his life, his long life if we have anything to say about it.

So what to do? We can't afford to do the surgery again. $2,000 is an immense amount for us right now. However, we can't leave our boy in pain.

We are so hesitant to ask for help because we fancy ourselves as go-getters and pretty independent sorts. However, for our Teddy, we're swallowing our pride.


So, since it "tis the season" and all that, we want to ask you for a gift, a gift for Teddy.  Anything that you could spare to help Teddy get his surgery would be, well...there are not enough words to describe how much it would mean to us. 

His surgery is December 12th. We wanted to move it up, but we weren't sure if we would be able to come up with the finances quick enough. So, we have until then to come up with the $2,000. 

Again, we can't thank you enough. Any amount helps and will be so appreciated. And we know Teddy and Charlie will be saluting every person for their donation.
