This campaign is not only for financial assistance, it is for LOVE, encouragement, and to bring a larger than life awareness of strength and perseverance. It takes MIGHTY strength to move a mountain, and that is exactly what WE as a support system will do for Micah and his beautiful family!
Micah has quite a different story than most; as he has struggled with an illness that cannot be "seen" by many. With the support and unwavering faith of his family, he is able to push forward in his fight against mental illness. This is a mighty battle he continues to fight, so this is where our encouragement and unshakable support can continually be given. The battle for him has not stopped here, because about a week ago, Micah was diagnosed with something we usually think of as "easy", the flu and strep! As everyone thought he was out of the clear with this sickness, something happened on Tuesday 05/28. His breathing became labored. Micah was brought the hospital, where after breathing treatments and IV medication, his oxygen levels never climbed over 85, something very serious for an active young boy. After tests, it was discovered Micah's lungs were filled with fluid and they would be transporting him to another local hospital that had a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, for further treatment. After a mishap with the Bipap Machine and a critically dropping oxygen level (now at 60), the best option, medically, was to intubate him and place him into a medically induced coma to allow his body time to heal.
Micah did not respond to oxygen and medication like the Dr.'s had hoped; therefor, he was life flighted to Children's Hospital New Orleans, where he remains in a medically induced coma, with an oscillator for 3 to 5 days minimum.
Please, join us in continually supporting Micah and his family as they go through such a life altering situation. Micah's story is nowhere near over, it is just beginning. The mountains that need moving will take the strength of many, as well as the strength and healing of the Almighty Father.
