As I am writing this, my sweet sister-in-law is in the hospital anxiously awaiting the arrival of her twin girls.  Melissa has been in and out of the hospital five times already during this pregnancy due to hyperemesis gravidarum and it will be a relief to have these babies out!!  Because of this condition, she has been suffering with nausea and vomiting up to 20 times a day which has then caused a snowball effect of horrible other issues including a potentially deadly infection (picked up from first hospital stay), extremely low lab levels, 4 blood transfusions, obscene amounts of potassium and the list goes on.        All of these things brought us close to losing her and the babies in March, and we are so thankful for the answered prayers and medical interventions that have enabled her to get to this point.

      I have started this fundraiser as a way to rally the troops and give all those who know her and who are touched by her survival story an opportunity to bless her and her family financially.  I know that beyond all the stresses of surviving this pregnancy and then having to care and provide for two infants at once, their homecoming will also be met with MOUNTAINS of medical bills. It would be one thing if this was the first time that she had experienced medical debt, but these pregnancy related hospital stays are just the tip of the iceberg.  In fact, when I think about it, I have probably spent as much time with her inside of hospitals as I have outside. In the last 10 years she has been through the wringer having undergone a few dozen surgeries in all.  The worst of which was losing the right side side of her jaw and teeth.

      Through it all, Melissa has been a pillar of strength, leaning on her faith in God and remaining the rock of her family, smiling and joking in the midst of chaos and battling everyday while never asking for a thing because she feels as if she’s putting people out.   I’d love to see everyone rally around her by donating what they are able to financially so that she would be able to come home and simply focus on healing and taking care of the precious twins without the worry of medical expenses and other needs.   Melissa is always the first to help those in need, literally giving the shoes off her feet or her last dollar.   She has a heart for others, always putting others before herself, and it’s time we show her just how loved she really is.   Many people have asked how to help so this page is set up for just that.   Any and all types of donations are a blessing.   Thank you for loving, praying for, and supporting Melissa!   Please help by sharing this page and continuing to pray for her and the babies.
