Want to fund a Senior Film by an up-and-coming Wisconsin born director and writer Benjamin Schmitt? Ben grew up in Fond du Lac where at a young age, he knew he wanted to be a filmmaker. HIs current project is his senior thesis, Motherboard.

Motherboard is a short film about loneliness, technology, nostalgia, and has features grungy retro futurism to give it a gritty and unique look! Benjamin worked on his film, Motherboard, during his senior year at Milwaukee. With shooting starting in March. Motherboard was originally set to finish filming by April, in time for the Senior Screening.

With shooting going almost complete, it could only be an ironic fate that caused a huge roadblock. One night while Ben was editing, his computer hard drive broke, and resulted in the film being erased.

Benjamin, weighing his options, decided to not give up! Benjamin is currently reshooting the film and plans to have a rough-cut by the end of May, with the final cut being finished in the Fall. This would line up for a 2027 film festival run, where the true life of the film begins. This is why we need your help!
