Mother Loses Everything in 2nd Fire: Tyra Landry

At the age of 7, Tyra was awakened to a fire in her family’s home. While some family members managed to escape the flames, Tyra was unable to get out of the home in time. The fire caused 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree burns all over her body and took the life of her younger sister. Tyra’s family lost everything. They were determined to rebuild through God’s strength and their own resilience. Tyra used her strength to persevere through surgeries, mental and physical trauma.

On May 26th 2021, Tyra was victim to another fire caused by faulty repair work in her apartment.  She is now facing another battle and the reality of starting over again. While Tyra managed to escape the fire, she is now faced with medical bills due to smoke inhalation and the loss of everything she owned. Tyra has always been there for others in spite of her own pain and struggles. She is a single mother and a hard worker with a heart of gold.
