Mosie Zook is the kind of man who forms the backbone of a rural community - not by seeking recognition, but by showing up, working hard, and putting others first.
He is an Amish sawmill owner, a devoted husband, and a loving father of six children, with a seventh on the way. He is a young man of deep faith who lives his values quietly through hard work, humility, generosity, and service to others.
This past spring, Mosie began experiencing severe and persistent pain. Over several months, he was taken to wellness clinics and hospitals multiple times and was repeatedly told he had arthritis. Despite extensive testing, no clear answers were found.
Two weeks ago, Mosie traveled to Ohio seeking another medical opinion. There, doctors discovered that he has advanced cancer of the muscle that has spread into the bone. This past Saturday, Mosie suffered a fractured hip due to the extent of the disease. He is currently in Ohio receiving treatment.
Alongside his role as a husband and father, Mosie is also a dedicated business owner. With the help of his father-in-law, he started his own sawmill at a young age and partnered with B&B Lumber Co. Beginning with cutting stringers, Mosie expanded his operation into pallet production and now employs 6–10 people from his community, providing steady work and support for their families.
Mosie’s diagnosis has profoundly impacted his ability to work and provide for his family and employees. Medical travel, treatment costs, and lost income have created an overwhelming financial burden during an already devastating time.
The Amish community is built on mutual aid, but the weight of this diagnosis is far greater than any one family or community should carry alone.
If you know Mosie, you already know how deserving he is.
If you don’t, please know this: he is the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without ever telling a soul.
This GoFundMe is our way - as neighbors, business partners, farmers, and community members - of returning even a fraction of what Mosie and the Amish community have given to all of us.
Every donation, every share, and every prayer matters. If you are unable to give financially, please consider sharing this page and keeping Mosie, Mary, and their children in your thoughts.
Thank you for standing with a man who has stood so faithfully for others.
