As many of you may already know, this past week the lives of our dear friend, Morgan Jenkins, and her two sons, Rigby (4 years) and Jude (15 months) changed dramatically overnight. On Wednesday, March 22nd, they tragically lost their husband and father, Andrews Jenkins to an accidental drug overdose. As his sister, Susannah writes, he "was a good man, a kind man, a talented, accomplished, respected film director with a beautiful, loving wife and two amazingly adorable kids that he loved to distraction." Despite his deep love for his family, he was troubled by an addiction fueled in secrecry that eventually was too much to control.
With Andrews passing, Morgan is left to not only mourn the loss of her husband of almost 9 years, but to raise and provide for their two young children. The task of parenting is non-stop, all encompassing, exhausting and requires all of you even when you feel like you have nothing left to give. And now Morgan is faced with shouldering this immense responsibility alone.
In the past 6 months, she has been building her business as an Arbonne Consultant while simultaneously maintaining her role as a stay-at-home mom. Despite her sincere passion for helping her clients and her great success in the short amount of time with the company, she's still in the very early stages of growing her business. And while there is no doubt that she will eventually be a top seller and be able to support her family in this way, it will not sustain their real, immediate needs today.
So here's where you come in. Your outpouring of love and support for this family has been absolutely amazing! In the most unfathomable of circumstances, your kind words, hugs, meals, and offers to help have been encouraging, life-giving and restorative. Here is a very tangible opportunity to support Morgan and the boys as they traverse the many financial challenges of the days, weeks and months ahead.
If you have the means to contribute in this way, our goal is to help raise enough money to cover the basic cost of living for the next 4-6 months ( housing, meals, groceries, childcare, preschool, medical needs, gas, diapers/wipes, etc.). This will allow Morgan to be home with the boys, to slowly piece things back together, at a time when they will need her more than ever. No matter the amount you are able to contribute, you will be taking that much more of the burden, stress and worry off of Morgan's shoulders. She is an incredibly strong woman and an amazing mother. She will surely overcome these heartbreaking and inconceivable circumstances, but she cannot do it alone. It takes a village...thank you for being her village and for walking alongside her and her boys!
