I'm Ryan Montgomery, and ever since I began to run competively, I told my dad that I would run the Boston Marathon someday. I finally qualified at age 21 . . . but it is a little late for my dad to witness it.

James Mark Montgomery (Mark)  died on August 29, 2014 from heart complications attributed to his Type 1 Diabetes while I (his son Ryan) was serving as a 2-year volunteer missionary in the Amazon of Brazil.

I returned home in  Summer 2015, and three months later in September 2015, I qualifed for the 2016 Boston Marathon with a time of 2:48:26, which qualifies me to run with the elite athletes in the first wave.  I will be running with a picture of Mark on my running singlet.

The Boston Marathon is April 2017.

100% of money fundraised will go directly to  the American Diabetes Type-1 Research Program as an honorable donation in Mark Montgomery's name.

Thank you for your love and support!  Though Mark can't actually be there for the Boston Marathon, I know that YOUR donation will make the experience much more meaningful to him--and me!
